Buddhist Pilgrimage

Morning: Spend several hours at the Mahabodhi Temple Complex (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Sit beneath the Bodhi Tree, a descendant of the original tree under which the Buddha attained enlightenment.

Afternoon: Visit the 80-foot-tall Great Buddha Statue and explore the various international monasteries (Thai, Japanese, Bhutanese, and Tibetan), each reflecting its country's unique architectural style.

Evening: Participate in evening chanting or meditation sessions within the temple grounds.

Morning (Rajgir): Drive from Bodh Gaya (approx. 2 hours). Take the cable car up to the Vishwa Shanti Stupa (Peace Pagoda), located on Gridhakuta Hill (Vulture's Peak), where the Buddha frequently preached.

Afternoon (Nalanda): A short 30-minute drive leads to the ruins of Nalanda University, the most famous center of learning in the ancient world. Explore the imposing red-brick monasteries and the on-site museum

Evening: Return to Bodh Gaya or stay overnight in Rajgir.

Travel: Take an early morning train or drive to Varanasi (approx. 5–6 hours).

Afternoon: Visit Sarnath, the place where the Buddha set the "Wheel of Dharma" in motion. Stand before the imposing Dhamek Stupa and visit the Sarnath Museum to view the iconic Ashoka Lion Capital (India's national emblem).

Evening: Stay in Varanasi and attend the Ganga Aarti for a deeper spiritual perspective

Morning: Drive to Kushinagar (approx. 5–6 hours).

Afternoon: Visit the Mahaparinirvana Stupa, which houses a 6-meter-long reclining Buddha statue depicting his final moments.

Evening: Visit the Ramabhar Stupa, the site of the Buddha's cremation. The atmosphere here is exceptionally peaceful and solemn.

Morning: Visit the Wat Thai Temple, known for its beautiful, forest-like gardens.

Afternoon: Depart for Gorakhpur (approx. 1.5 hours) to catch your flight or connecting train back to Delhi or Kolkata.
